Etna Wine Route
Etna
The climatic characteristics that are found around the Etna, the largest volcano in Europe, mean that even the vines planted in these lands give grapes of incredible value. The Etna wine route, that goes around the volcano, enveloping it at 360-degrees, crosses different landscapes, from the coastal territory to the innermost localities.
There are several itineraries within this area: you can make an excursion to discover the Castles, starting from Motta Sant'Anastasia, PaternĂ² and Adrano, where you can also admire the famous Saracen Bridge.
Other itineraries may include excursions on the coast, forged by the previous lava eruptions, clearly visible in Aci Castello and Acitrezza and then go into the territories of Zafferana, Milo and Sant'Alfio.
Another type of visit can be done within the municipalities of the mountain belt, such as Nicolosi, Bronte, Trecastagni and Randazzo.
Whatever you choose, this is where Etna Doc takes shape, from the vines of Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Mantellato, the Carricante and the Cataratto.
